  JWD scholars, I need a bit of help finding something ...

  does anyone know where i can find reprints of the "resolutions" that comprise the "scorpion stings" and the "trumpet blasts" of revelation as explained in the revelation climax book?.

  i have lately become very curious about the contents of these resolutions and proclaimations, since the wts currently praises the bible students for publishing and distributing these "scathing denunciations".. i bet they are just filled with false prophecies, too.

  my idea is to show the resolutions in question and ask: even if the "trumpet blasts" really are divine judgment messages, would outstandingly bold false predictions reasonably be any part of these divine judgment messages?.

  Elder asks me why we quit... (Long)

  in this thread i mentioned having a long chat with an elder last summer.

  i didn't realize i had never posted the story, so here it is.. last summer (when i went to buy my new camera lens) i ran into one of my favorite jws at the photography shop.

  he was buying a camera bag for his new dslr, and i saw him, went up and greeted him, hugged him.

  Thank you for this excellent post - I was hanging onto every word.
  
  It's all terribly sad, I know so many like this, beautiful, intelligent, wonderful people who let their cult personality overrule their true selves. Maybe one day he'll wake up and smell the espresso. Or maybe he won't.
  
  I know they are choosing to believe all the BS and that all logic and reason goes out the window on this subject alone but they are handicapped due to the powerful mind control over the years - hats off to the WTBTS - they've pulled off a blinder.
  
  Our 'friends' are victims without a shadow of a doubt. We all are.

  i am talking about 'regular stalkers' who stalk you for the obsessive psychological reason of needing to be near you physically.. ever been followed?.

  But I got some good poetry out of it - might even get a book of the poems published and make some dosh!!
  
  Seriously, it freaked me out at the time but I now I just look back and feel sorry for the guy.
  
  He's no longer a JW (I don't feel sorry about this bit, needless to say) and his marriage broke up.

  we found this quiz after reading the book parenting beyond belief and sweetpea and i decided to take the challenge - afterall how difficult can 50 bible questions be for us born and brought up as jw's?.

  our results were enlightening to say the least - we both scored 28/50 - not exactly brilliant although apparently above average.. take the quiz and post your results and comments..

  How much does a housewife cost?

  don't take this the wrong way, this is purely out of curiousity.. .

  assuming you are the working man who makes the money, and the wife stays at home and takes care of the house and cooks and does laundry and all that stuff.. no children!.

  how much would it cost to hire someone(s) to do all those things instead?

  This really applies if there are kids in the equation but it will give you an idea of what a partner is worth to you guys....
  
  Here in the UK you can hire a 'Doula' when you have a baby that will do EVERYTHING! (apart from exclusive wifely duties that is...) including but not limited to, washing, ironing, cooking, cleaning, shopping, driving, sorting out paperwork, clearing cupboards, dealing with tradesmen, looking after the children (including getting up in the night if necessary), etc, etc.
  
  At £16 per hour, together with a nightly rate of £100, this will cost you approximately £9,000pcm/£108,000pa, double for dollars of course.
  
  You could probably negotiate a discount but the minimum you'd pay for this service would be £6,300pcm/£75,600pa
  
  So all you women out there who are looking after your men, this is roughly what you're worth.....
  
  and you men, do you REALLY appreciate your Mrs?
  
  and I bet, even if your Mrs works, she still does more than her fair share?!
  
  It's still a man's world.....

  on the earth you should pour it out as water.. from these verses it is clear that there is an old testament prohibition against eating blood.

  if not, why do you think it is sacred?

  so whenever a person took the life of an animal, they were to drain the blood and not drink it because the blood represents the life and not theirs to take without god's permission.

  dear Maddie, you know how I feel. Don't meet with them, don't play their game, don't confirm to them that they have the power that they think they do - FRUSTRATE THEIR PLANS! Your life is really none of their business and they have no right to harass you, which they will.
  
  You have told your son how you feel so you are being true to yourself. By not attending meetings you have sent a clear message to others and by being 'inactive' it screws up their figures!
  
  I wish you all the best whatever decision you make, you know where I am if you need me.
